A Telefónica incident affected the emergency telephone 112 this Tuesday morning in several autonomous communities, although in Catalonia the impact was limited and the service was restored normally around eleven thirty.
The main anomaly was in the difference between the territorial scope of the ruling and its effect in Catalonia. While the breakdown compromised a basic emergency channel in different parts of the State, the Catalan emergency service described it as a "minor" incident in the community and the SEM maintained the reception and management of calls during the recovery.
The SEM began to recover communications around eleven
During the morning, the Medical Emergency System reported that the incident was affecting telephone communications. Even so, it pointed out that by eleven in the morning the service had begun to recover progressively.
From that moment, the SEM indicated that it was already receiving and processing calls. The notice added that occasional and intermittent disruptions could continue to be registered in some telephone communications.
The 112 returned to normal operation half an hour later
The full recovery of service in Catalonia arrived somewhat later. Around half past eleven in the morning, the emergency telephone 112 reported that it was working normally again.
During the incident, the emergency service of Catalonia maintained that the impact had been low in the community, despite the fact that Telefónica's breakdown affected several autonomous communities.
The latest report of the morning placed the normalization of 112 in Catalonia around eleven thirty, after the SEM had communicated a progressive recovery of calls since eleven.
