The social services offices of Tarragona have registered queues this Monday, April 20, due to the increase in applications for the vulnerability certificate for migrants within the extraordinary regularization process. Municipal attention exceeds 750 people per day since last Thursday, in a reinforced device to absorb the demand.
Reinforcement of personnel and more points of attention
The City Council has enabled more staff to streamline this procedure, one of the necessary documents within the open procedure. In the city there are six social services points and five civic centers where this process can be carried out, with the aim of distributing the influx and avoiding a greater concentration of users in a few offices.
The pressure has been noted with special intensity at the beginning of the week, when many applicants have come to advance the file before the deadline expires. The deadline to submit the application is June 30, a margin that is setting the pace of arrival at municipal facilities.
Attention also in the afternoon
Starting this week, Tarragona's social services will also open in the afternoon to expand their care capacity. The measure seeks to address the volume of requests without further extending waiting times in a process especially sensitive for the affected people.

The municipal official has insisted that the objective is to accelerate the processing without adding more pressure to those who must complete the administrative procedure in a context of personal and family uncertainty.
