Nestlé's management has notified worker representatives that twelve employees will lose their jobs at the Girona plant. This measure is part of a state-wide employment regulation file.

The local impact is added to a much broader restructuring. The multinational plans to affect 301 workers throughout Spanish territory. In Catalonia, the total number of dismissals amounts to 178 people.

The Esplugues office concentrates the majority of the cuts

The headquarters located in Esplugues de Llobregat is the facility most affected by the plan. There will be 158 job losses. It is followed by the Reus factory, with 8 affected, and the Girona plant.

The twelve workers laid off in Girona are divided into two professional categories. Five belong to the staff of employees and seven are laborers. The factory has approximately 900 people on its payroll.
