4 New restaurants from Girona receive Soles in the Guía Repsol 2026

"At Fontané, they prepare elevated cuisine, high-level, but that maintains its roots, it is traditional Catalan cuisine that does not renounce creativity and that seeks its path towards the future" - Joan Roca, chef

Four restaurants from the Girona regions have been recognized with a Sun in the 2026 edition of the Repsol Guide, presented this Monday at the Palau Firal i de Congressos in Tarragona. The distinguished establishments are Fontané in Sant Julià de Ramis, Maràngels in Sant Gregori, 539 Plats Forts in Puigcerdà, and Dvisi in Palamós. This addition represents the only novelty for the province in this year's publication.

New Soles for Girona

Fontané, the most recent project of the Roca brothers, is located in the hotel of the fortress of Sant Julià de Ramis and features Jordi Turmo and Carlos López at the helm of the kitchen. Joan Roca highlighted in November during the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona the restaurant's approach

"At Fontané, an elevated, high-level cuisine is made, but one that maintains its roots; it is traditional Catalan cuisine that does not renounce creativity and seeks its path towards the future" - Joan Roca, chef

In Puigcerdà, Martín Comamala is solely responsible for the kitchen and service at 539 Plats Forts, where he attends to about ten diners at a bar. The Guía Repsol emphasizes that Comamala not only cooks but also collects products from the field and personally selects the meat and fish he offers on his tasting menu. The seasonality of the products marks the evolution of his proposal.

Consolidated trajectories and proximity cuisine

Maràngels, founded in 1995 by Francesc Mas and Eva Màrquez in Sant Gregori, adds this Sun to its previous recommendation in the Michelin Guide. The restaurant occupies a 17th-century farmhouse with a garden setting and offers updated traditional cuisine, with varied menus and options for groups.

Dvisi, in Palamós, is the project of Jordi Simón and Laura Vicente. Opened in 2014 and moved in 2018 to the Casa Vincke hotel, the restaurant focuses on creative cuisine that unites cultures and tradition, with special attention to local produce.

Balance of the Repsol Guide in Girona

The 2026 edition maintains the three and two Repsol Soles in the province of Girona unchanged, with three and ten establishments respectively. The only novelty for the Girona regions is the incorporation of these four restaurants with one Sun.

The Repsol Sun awards gala was held in Tarragona, with the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Diputación de Tarragona. The Minister of Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper, and the President of Repsol, Antonio Brufau, attended.

María Ritter, director of Guía Repsol, stressed during the event that in this edition, proposals that bet on the fusion between regions are gaining weight and that reconciliation is beginning to spread in a sector traditionally marked by long hours.

Fontané, Maràngels, 539 Plats Forts and Dvisi thus join Girona's gastronomic map with the recognition of the Guía Repsol.
