Terrassa has deployed this May 17 a set of institutional measures to commemorate the International Day against LGTBIfobia. The city council has reinforced its internal protocols and diversity care services with the aim of improving prevention and response to cases of discrimination.
The day included the session "Collective processes have legislative impact" at the Centre Cívic President Macià. Around fifty representatives from local entities and social movements debated the novelties introduced by Law 13/2025 on the rights of LGTBI people.

The event was attended by groups such as Acció Trans, Bollos en Teoria, and Gais Positius. The speakers examined how social mobilization directly influences legislative changes and the legal protection of sexual and gender minorities.

This reflection contextualizes the entry into force of the new Catalan regulations. The local administration adapts its work tools to align with the legal requirements and the demands of the Terrassa associative fabric.
Customer Service Data and New Internal Tools
The Service of Integral Attention to Affective, Sexual and Gender Diversity (SAI DASIG) presented its annual report along with a renewed graphic image. The design incorporates rounded shapes that nod to the city's modernist factory architecture.
In 2025, the service managed 160 files. Of these, 48 were related to affective, sexual, and gender diversity, 29 to asylum or refuge applications, and 26 to specific LGTBIphobic discrimination.
The team provided 565 services, predominantly of a socio-educational nature, and resolved 40 informational queries. Additionally, it provided technical support in the filing of 4 administrative complaints and 1 criminal complaint.
To speed up the institutional response, the City Council is working on the final version of the Internal Communication Guide for LGTBIfobic aggressions. The document sets criteria for reporting with rigor, avoiding re-victimization or trivialization of violence.
The Internal Protocol to prevent and detect situations of harassment within the City Council itself has also been updated. The review seeks to make the procedure clearer and more accessible for all municipal staff.
