The L'Arboç train station has reopened after months of works, but several users report that some of the announced improvements are not working. The complaints focus on the underground passage under the tracks, which they claim is unlit, and on the elevators installed with the renovation, which are reportedly not operational.

The main paradox for travelers is that the renovation was completed at the end of 2024 with the aim of facilitating mobility and changing platforms without crossing the tracks, but now some residents claim they need flashlights to cross the underpass and that they still cannot use the elevators.

The renovation ended at the end of 2024, but the elevators are still out of service

The comprehensive renovation works affected the station on the R4 Rodalies line, in the section between Sant Vicenç de Calders and Barcelona, and kept the stop out of service for months. Among the included actions were the expansion of canopies and platforms, in addition to the installation of three elevators.

On paper, this action should have allowed travelers to change platforms without crossing the tracks. In practice, users maintain that these three elevators are not working, so one of the central improvements of the intervention would still have no real use.

Residents report that the underground passage is in darkness

The protests have circulated on social media, where residents of L'Arboç warn of the lack of lighting in the passage under the tracks. Some travelers explain that the tunnel is completely dark when they cross it.

According to these testimonies, users require flashlights to cross the underground passage at a station that has just undergone a comprehensive renovation. The complaint adds to the malfunction attributed to the elevators and concentrates the discontent of those who use the stop daily.

Furthermore, the station's location exacerbates these claims. The facility is located far from the historic center of L'Arboç, a distance that, combined with the reported darkness in the underpass, has reinforced among users the request for an intervention to correct the shortcomings.

The station renovation incorporated three elevators, expanded canopies and platforms, and concluded at the end of 2024 after keeping the R4 stop out of service for months.
