The Generalitat foresees maintaining the management of the Truck Park Reus truck parking lot, located between Sant Bernat Calvó avenue and Pintor Fuster street, once the current concession expires in 2027. The intention of the Department of Territory is to continue operating in this location while no alternative is available.
The equipment, managed by the public company CIMALSA, operates 24 hours a day in a residential area of Reus where the Sant Bernat Calvó School and a playground are also located. The continuity of the parking at this point maintains neighborhood concern, especially due to traffic and road safety in the surrounding streets.

The position of the Govern arrives as the end of the current concession approaches, set for 2027. The Truck Park Reus will thus continue as an active infrastructure in this sector of the city while a new location to transfer the activity is not materialized.
The facility is located in an area with homes and everyday use equipment, a factor that for some time has fueled the discomfort among residents of the area. The concern is not limited to the operation of the parking lot, but also to the passage of vehicles and to the speed recorded in several nearby streets.
The neighbors place road safety at the center of the complaint

Pintor Fuster street, one of the points highlighted by residents, has a speed limit of 30 km/h. The neighborhood association maintains that speeding also occurs on other nearby roads in the residential area.
Since January 2025, the City Council has carried out 23 speed controls at three points on Pintor Fuster street. It is one of the measures adopted while the technical study on mobility in this area is completed.
The City Council prepares a mobility plan for Zone 5
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Dolors Vázquez, has announced that the council will soon inform the residents of Zone 5 about the mobility plan foreseen for this sector when the ongoing technical study concludes.
The municipal official has also specified one of the records obtained in the controls carried out. The maximum speed detected in the last year was 86 km/h and occurred on a single occasion at 9:30 in the morning.
The debate about the location of the car park is not new. In 2009, a project was awarded for 55,000 euros to build a new car park in the Burgaret sector, in polygon 54, in the space where the Isabel Besora School is located, although that action was finally not carried out. As long as another option is not materialized, the Generalitat's forecast is to maintain the activity of the Truck Park Reus in its current location.
