The National Police has arrested three men in Lleida accused of trafficking heroin and cocaine from an apartment in the city center that, according to the investigation, functioned as a storage and distribution point. The agents arrested them when they were about to make a sale, after initiating investigations based on an anonymous tip filed at the provincial police station.

The operation focuses on a property that had deteriorated daily life in the area. While the investigated individuals, identified by the National Police as leaders of a criminal group that brought heroin into Spain from Holland, prepared the drugs for distribution, the surroundings accumulated episodes of insecurity, robberies, thefts, and unsanitary conditions due to the influx of people with drug addiction profiles.

The search found 783 grams of heroin and more than four kilos for adulteration

During the search of the apartment, the agents seized 783 grams of heroin and 24 grams of cocaine, in addition to 4,109 grams of substances intended for cutting and adulterating the drugs. They also located material for handling and packaging it.

Part of the substance was already prepared for sale on the market. The National Police also seized 2,400 euros in cash in an operation that, had it not occurred at that moment, would have allowed the completion of another sale.

The investigation maintains that the apartment in the center of Lleida not only served to store the drugs but also to prepare the doses before distributing them. That use of the property concentrated a good part of the activity attributed to the three arrested individuals.

The Police place the arrested individuals in a network that brought heroin from Holland

In addition to retail sales, the National Police attributes a leadership role to the detainees within a criminal group that brought heroin into Spain from Holland. This consideration links the point of sale detected in Lleida to a broader supply chain.

In the area where they operated, residents had expressed their discontent about the consequences of the constant comings and goings around the building. After the intervention, they have shown their gratitude because they associated the apartment's activity with insecurity, thefts, robberies, and public health problems in the area.

According to police estimates, the market value of the seized drugs would have exceeded 50,000 euros had they not been intercepted before distribution.
