A third rave has been held this Pentecost Monday holiday on land near the Arc d'Adà in Llardecans, with between 100 and 150 attendees arriving from France. The Mossos d'Esquadra arrived at the scene around midday and set up checkpoints at the entrances to prevent more people from entering and those leaving the venue from re-entering.

The gathering is being repeated for the third time in a year in the municipality without prior authorization or contact with the landowners, but the town hall does not consider it a problem. The council maintains that these gatherings are held in secluded areas, without damage or disturbance to the environment.

The Mossos closed access to the venue at midday

The police operation was activated when the party was already underway. From that moment on, the officers limited movement at the entrances to contain the influx and prevent the number of participants from increasing during the day.

The rave was held in an area near the Arc d'Adà, in the municipality of Llardecans. The organizers, as had happened on previous occasions, did not ask for permission from the town hall nor did they contact the owners of the occupied land.

Xavier Mor, the mayor of Llardecans, explained that the arrival usually occurs at night and that the municipality finds the celebration already started in the morning. "They arrive at night and we find them in the morning," declared the mayor.

Llardecans had already hosted two other parties in March and May

In the last year, the municipality has registered two other raves. In March, it brought together more than a hundred people and about 50 vehicles, while in May, attendance grew to about 400 people and around 150 vehicles.

The mayor maintains that, despite being held without authorization, these gatherings have not left any notable incidents in the municipality. Mor assured that those who participate seek to have fun and that they have not caused damage in the area, a view he has also expressed after other raves in Ponent.

"They are young people who want to have fun, they don't bother anyone, and when they leave, they leave everything as they found it" - Xavier Mor, mayor of Llardecans

The town hall insists that the secluded location of these gatherings reduces their impact on the municipality. Mor added that, on the previous occasion, when municipal representatives arrived at the site, the attendees had already left and no remains were found on the ground.

In fact, the mayor stressed that on that last occasion they did not find even a cigarette butt on the ground. This precedent contrasts with other episodes recorded in nearby regions such as La Noguera and Les Garrigues, in addition to the case of the death in Santa Linya that occurred last November due to cardiac arrest.

Mor reiterated that, after that previous celebration, the town hall went to the site when the attendees had already left and found "not even a cigarette butt on the ground".
