The Mossos d'Esquadra have summoned a security guard from a pub in Lleida to testify as an investigated party for the alleged assault on a customer outside the Traganits music bar, on Darrere Sant Martí street. The complainant, a 24-year-old young man, suffered a head trauma and had to be evacuated to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital, where he remained for 18 hours.

The events date back to the early hours of last Friday, around 0:30 AM. The complaint filed with the Mossos states that the young man wanted to access the premises when the guard prevented him from entering with a "You can't come in." From there, a verbal exchange occurred which, according to the complainant's version, ended with a shove that caused him to fall to the ground and hit his head.

"I asked him on several occasions why I couldn't enter. He told me that the owners had told him no. I have been there other times without any problem. I insisted on the reason for the prohibition. Without telling me anything else, he gave me a strong push, I hit my head against the floor and lost consciousness for about half an hour" - Young complainant

Attended by the Guardia Urbana and the SEM

Following the incident, officers from the Guardia Urbana and the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques attended the scene. The young man was transferred by ambulance to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital, where he remained until 6:50 p.m. The injury report includes cranial trauma, headache, nausea, and otorrhagia.

After being discharged, the affected person filed a complaint with the Mossos d'Esquadra. The Catalan police also received the incident report prepared by the Guardia Urbana and, based on that documentation, opened proceedings.

Investigations opened and referral to court

The security guard has been summoned to testify as a suspect within the framework of these proceedings. A police spokesperson specified that "The proceedings will be sent to the court".

The investigation focuses on clarifying what happened outside the establishment and determining the eventual responsibility of the security guard, who, according to the business owner, belongs to a company hired by the premises.

Conflicting versions on the origin of the veto

The pub owner assured that he did not directly witness the scene. "The events occurred outside and I did not see what happened. The guard belongs to a company we have hired," he stated. Regarding the denial of access to the establishment, he maintained that the young man "was drunk, became aggressive, and was not dressed appropriately." He also dismissed that there were racist motivations for preventing him from entering.

The complainant maintains a different version. He assures that he does not understand the reason for the prohibition and maintains that behind what happened he "only" sees "one reason", which would be "a veto for racism". This extreme, like the rest of the circumstances of the case, is now under police investigation and awaiting what the court determines when it receives the proceedings.
