The situation at the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Lleida is once again in the spotlight after the complaint by the CSIF union, which speaks of a serious situation in the service and demands an urgent reinforcement of staff and resources to guarantee adequate service in the demarcation.

The complaint comes after a couple of weeks ago the Federation of Driving Schools of Catalonia already described the current situation in Lleida as chaotic. At that time, in the demarcation there were about 5,000 people awaiting the tests, a figure that evidenced the backlog accumulated in traffic exams.

Work pressure and delays in the exams

CSIF maintains that part of the problem directly affects the staff. The union assures that many of the professionals with more roots in the territory are on medical leave due to work pressure and the bad existing atmosphere in the center.

That situation, always according to the trade union organization, translates into waits that it considers intolerable to be examined, vehicles without activity and driving school instructors who cannot carry out their work normally. The impact is not limited to the administration, but fully affects the daily operation of driving schools and the applicants who are waiting for a date to take the tests.

Concern for the future of other centers

CSIF's complaint also extends outside the capital of Segrià. The union has charged against the unilateral closure of the displaced center of Vielha, which it assures has been executed without explanations.

Furthermore, it warns of the risk that other centers like la Pobla de Segur and la Seu d'Urgell may be affected by the lack of sufficient budget, despite the digitalization processes underway. The organization fears that those venues may follow the same path if the current lack of means is not corrected.

Request for a change of course

Before this scenario, CSIF demands a change of course in the management of the Lleida Prefecture. The union insists that the current situation compromises the provision of the service and maintains pressure on a system that drags delays, lack of staff, and a growing discomfort among professionals in the sector.
