More than a hundred calls to 112

The emergency telephone 112 has managed a hundred notices related to the wind storm since midnight, most of them from the southern regions of Catalonia. Emergency services have worked to attend to incidents derived from the strong gusts, although no data on personal injuries has been provided.

Infrastructure protection and gale warning

Protecció Civil has activated the protection systems for the power lines, devices that temporarily disconnect the infrastructures to avoid greater damage. Once the wind episode has ended, the power line is automatically reconnected.

The gale alert remains active throughout the territory and the pre-alert for a possible intense snowfall in the coming hours in Vall d'Aran, Pallars Sobirà, and Alta Ribagorça is maintained. Authorities recommend exercising extreme caution when traveling and following the instructions of emergency services.
