The Generalitat de Catalunya has closed the distribution of the inheritance of the Anlló siblings with a final allocation of 2.26 million euros that will be divided equally between the Department of Culture and the Department of Social Rights. Both departments will open public calls for entities to submit projects financed with that money.

The distribution puts an end to an open process following the death in 2002 of the Anlló brothers, hoteliers from Sant Feliu de Guíxols who died without descendants or a will. The estate came mainly from properties in the city, but its liquidation has not only resulted in sales, as part of the legacy has also been reserved for social housing.

The inheritance amounted to 2.26 million after selling the Mediterráneo hotel

The decision has been made by the Board of Distributors of inheritances and confirmed by the Departament d'Economia i Finances. With this allocation, the Generalitat considers the entirety of the Anlló brothers' legacy settled and distributed.

The assets were mainly made up of old hotels, premises, and buildings located in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The last property to go up for tender was the old Mediterráneo hotel, at number 12 Penitència street.

That property was awarded in July for 322,000 euros in the last sale operation. The property had been left out of the July 17 auction due to an appeal that the High Court of Justice of Catalonia ended up dismissing.

The Generalitat had already allocated another million and reserved two properties for social housing

The 2.26 million approved are now added to the million euros that Culture and Social Rights and Inclusion had already distributed before through public calls. The mechanism follows the regime of intestate inheritances that the Generalitat processes when there is no will or heirs.

In those cases, the administration allocates the resources obtained for social, welfare, or cultural purposes. In the Anlló legacy, in addition to sales and calls for tenders, two properties were directly assigned to the Agència de l'Habitatge de Catalunya.

That assignment will allow the creation of 23 homes for social use from two properties in the inherited estate.
