The National Police has expelled seven repeat foreign offenders from Spain who were acting mainly in the Girona regions, in an operation coordinated in several municipalities and executed within 72 hours of the transfer confirmation.
Among those expelled is a man arrested in Olot for alleged links to jihadism, whose repatriation was pending until the appeal he had filed against the decision was resolved. The group collectively had more than 100 police and judicial records, with profiles also investigated for sexual assault, violent robbery, and home burglaries.
The operation brought together forces from Girona, Olot, and Santa Coloma de Farners
The intervention was led by the Provincial Brigade of Immigration and Borders of Girona, with support from the Central Unit of Repatriations. The Mossos d'Esquadra of Girona and Santa Coloma de Farners also participated in the location of the seven profiles.
Local police forces from Banyoles, Sant Hilari Sacalm, and Olot also collaborated, within a operation that had to be concluded quickly due to the activation of a chartered repatriation flight for the transfer.
Regardless of nationality, the operation focused on individuals with a cumulative criminal record. The seven expelled individuals had more than 100 police and judicial records for various crimes, according to information provided by the National Police.
One of the expelled individuals appealed his repatriation after being arrested in Olot
Six of the expelled individuals are Moroccan citizens and the seventh is Gambian. One of them had been arrested in Olot for alleged links to jihadism, and his departure was not executed until the appeal filed against the expulsion order was resolved.
Another of the men was accused of sexual assault. The rest had records linked to violent robbery and home burglaries, with their main activity in different regions of Girona.
The National Police frames these actions within immigration legislation and compliance with judicial resolutions. The force recalls that repatriation is its specific competence and that the procedure is regulated by Organic Law 4/2000.
In addition to police action, the process requires coordination with the judiciary, the Prosecutor's Office, the Bar Association, the Government delegations, and the consular corps. The intervention had to be completed within a maximum of 72 hours from the confirmation of the transfer flight.
The expulsion of the seven men was carried out in an operation led by the Provincial Brigade of Foreigners and Borders of Girona together with the Central Unit for Repatriations.
