A fairground showman from Girona has reported the disappearance of his fairground attraction, a 43-ton grasshopper, which was parked and folded on a plot of land in Sant Gregori. The owner, José Dos Anjos Rodríguez, detected the absence of the structure between February 11 and 12, when the attraction was ready to be transported and awaiting the start of the season in May.

The Missing Attraction and the First Clues

The attraction, known as The Crazy Frog and easily recognizable by the figure of a frog on top, did not have brakes or a pneumatic circulation system at the time of the theft. As explained by José Dos Anjos Rodríguez himself, these elements had been removed for renovations and the parts were at his home.

"The attraction has no brakes or pneumatic circulation, because I had removed them to make renovations and I keep the parts at home" - José Dos Anjos Rodríguez, owner

The owner reviewed images in which the structure is seen attached to a Renault vehicle. This detail has been provided to the ongoing investigation. Rodríguez has warned of the risk involved in moving the attraction under these conditions, as it could cause an accident if an attempt is made to transport it without the safety systems installed.

"This can be dangerous if you try to move it, because it could end up causing an accident" - José Dos Anjos Rodríguez, owner

Police investigation underway

The case is under investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra, who have confirmed receipt of the complaint on February 13. The owner has pointed out that in the Girona fairground sector everyone knows each other, and does not rule out that the alleged perpetrator could be another professional in the guild.

"In a sector where we all know each other, do you think another fair vendor could have done it?" - José Dos Anjos Rodríguez, owner

The stolen attraction weighs 43 tons and was folded for transport. The theft occurred on a plot of land in Sant Gregori between February 11 and 12. The Mossos d"Esquadra are keeping the investigation open. The owner warns of the danger of moving the structure without safety systems.
