The same prosecutor who protects her as a victim now requests her indictment for violating private data

The Attorney General's Office has set for Tuesday, May 12, the hearing for the imputation of charges and request for a precautionary measure against Laura Ojeda for an alleged crime of personal data violation against Daysuris Vásquez.

The case reaches that appointment with a contradiction at the center of the proceeding. Ojeda's defense maintains that prosecutor Lucy Marcela Laborde is pushing the indictment against her client for acts similar to those she is also investigating in a case in which Ojeda appears as a victim.

Investigation examines alleged SIM cloning to access conversations

The investigation analyzes whether Ojeda improperly accessed, used, or disclosed personal information. Among the evidence under study are an alleged SIM card cloning to access Vásquez's private conversations, as well as payments and conversations that remain under analysis.

That is the core of the audience scheduled for May 12, in which the Prosecutor's Office will also request a precautionary measure. For now, the accusation moves in the realm of allegedly committed acts and not of a judicial conviction.

The defense attributes a functional incompatibility to prosecutor Lucy Laborde

Alejandro Carranza, Laura Ojeda's lawyer, questioned the performance of the prosecutor in charge of the case and denounced an alleged functional incompatibility for intervening in proceedings that affect both women.

"This is a complete abuse by prosecutor Lucy Marcela Laborde, because she has violated Laura Ojeda's data. She should have protected Laura Ojeda as a victim and what she has done is re-victimize her, she has abused her functions as a prosecutor and the Attorney General's Office allows it" - Alejandro Carranza, Laura Ojeda's lawyer

Carranza affirmed that Lucy Laborde investigates Daysuris Vásquez for data violation against Ojeda and, at the same time, promotes the indictment against her client for acts of the same nature. In his version, that double intervention compromises the prosecutor's position within the process.

The lawyer added that the prosecutor had allegedly requested financial and lodging information from hotels to identify who paid Ojeda's bill and how the payment was made. The defense interprets this action as a violation of their client's personal data.

"When she went to ask the hotels to provide her with information about who had paid the bill and how they had paid it, she did so by violating Laura Ojeda's personal data. So now she not only has a functional incompatibility but now she has become a victim of Laura Ojeda" - Alejandro Carranza, Laura Ojeda's lawyer

In another of his statements, Carranza maintained that the same prosecutor who, in his opinion, should have protected Ojeda as a victim in the investigation against Daysuris Vásquez is now seeking that she be charged with an alleged data violation against Isuris del Carmen.

Laura Ojeda's defense has announced that it will file several requests with the judicial authorities in the coming hours and that it will follow the decisions made by the judge in the case after the hearing scheduled for Tuesday, May 12.
