The rehabilitation works of the Fabra i Puig bus station, in Barcelona, will start in June with an investment of 65,000 euros by the Generalitat. The action will last for about six months and will affect a point that has gained importance in the city's mobility in recent months.
The Fabra i Puig station is right now the only one in Barcelona included in the improvement plan promoted by the Government. Its role has been strengthened by becoming a mobility hub by concentrating all the coaches of Renfe's alternative plan during the duplication works of the Rodalies R3.
Improvements in information, signage and comfort
The intervention seeks to improve the general condition of the facilities, reinforce user information systems, and renew identification signage. It is also planned to modernize several elements of the service so that the space is more comfortable and functional for travelers.
The action comes at a time of high demand for this station, which has assumed a significant volume of users and connections due to its role within the alternative railway device. The objective is to adapt the equipment to this new centrality and improve its daily operability.
Plan of the Generalitat for 25 stations in Catalonia
The rehabilitation of Fabra i Puig is part of a broader plan by the Generalitat to improve and rehabilitate 25 bus stations in Catalonia during 2026. The total budget foreseen for this program amounts to 10 million euros.
