The Policía Nacional has arrested in Tarragona one of the two alleged perpetrators of a crime of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, in an operation that has also resulted in an arrest in Ourense. Both detainees have already been placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
The investigation started after the complaint of the father of a victim
The investigations began after the complaint filed by the parent of an eight-year-old victim. From that moment on, the agents focused the investigation on two people under suspicion of contacting minors through a messaging application and a social network for ephemeral content.
According to the investigation, the alleged perpetrators would have contacted at least two minors and requested from them images of sexual content through video calls. The case remains under investigation.
Simultaneous searches in Tarragona and Ourense
Within the framework of the operation, the National Police carried out two simultaneous entries and searches in Tarragona and Ourense. In both properties, the agents seized electronic material that is being analyzed.
During the searches, electronic material with illegal files on mobile phones and in hidden folders was located, a part of the evidence that now forms part of the open judicial case.
The two arrested, before the judge
The operation has closed, for the moment, with the arrest of the two investigated individuals, one in Tarragona and another in Ourense. The arrested individuals have been placed at judicial disposal while the investigation into the scope of the facts and the analysis of the intervened material advances.
