The Local Police of Torredembarra prevented on March 18 the departure of two buses destined for a school excursion upon detecting that both were circulating with an expired ITV. The action was carried out during the usual preventive controls that are performed before this type of travel.
Review of documentation before starting the service
During the prior inspection, the officers reviewed the vehicles' documentation and verified that neither of the two coaches met the necessary administrative requirements to provide the service. Given this situation, the Local Police prohibited the drivers from making the journey under those conditions and processed the corresponding complaint.
The intervention prevented the vehicles from starting the journey with schoolchildren on board. The incident was resolved after replacing both buses with two others that did comply with current regulations.
The excursion took place normally
Once the coaches were replaced, the school trip could proceed normally. The police action allowed the planned displacement to be maintained without canceling the activity, although with a delay derived from the replacement of the vehicles.
