The Central Library of Terrassa will extend its hours between May 18 and June 20 to open as a night study hall during the exam period. The municipal facility will close at midnight from Monday to Friday and will also enable opening on Saturday afternoons and evenings.
The main novelty arrives while the Library of the Terrassa Campus of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia will maintain its usual hours until June 22 and will also limit access on several days only to its students. That mismatch leaves the municipal library as an open alternative beyond ordinary hours for those looking to study at night in the city.
The Central Library will be open until 24:00 on weekdays and Saturdays
From Monday to Friday, the Central Library of Terrassa will operate until 24:00 with an additional service between 20:00 and midnight. On Saturdays, the study hours will be from 19:00 to 24:00.
During that night stretch, the equipment will make available to users a room with wifi connection for laptops and mobile devices. The measure will be in effect from May 18 to June 20.
The UPC will maintain its usual schedule and restrict access for six days
In parallel, the Library of the Terrassa Campus of the UPC will maintain its ordinary hours between May 18 and June 22, from Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 8:30 PM. On June 23, it will be open from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Furthermore, the university will restrict access to that library on May 30 and 31 and June 6, 7, 13, and 14 exclusively to students from the Terrassa Campus. The limitation coincides with the weeks of greatest academic pressure.
At the same time, the study rooms in the TR10 building of the Terrassa Campus operate 24 hours a day. During the week, from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., access is free and does not require a reservation.
Outside of that strip, UPC students must reserve a spot through the university intranet and identify themselves at reception to enter the TR10 rooms during the nights, weekends, and holidays.
