Aigües de Reus has awarded three works to improve the supply and sanitation networks in various parts of the city with a total investment of 471,709 euros. The works will affect carrer del Nord, passatge Quer, the glorieta Galícia in the Fortuny neighborhood, and carrer Mas Abelló.
The intervention arrives within the 2026 investment plan, endowed with 2.3 million euros to renovate and maintain hydraulic infrastructures, and is presented as a preventive action rather than a response to breakdowns. The councilor responsible for Aigües de Reus, Daniel Rubio, maintains that the objective is to ensure the service in the long term and improve its efficiency.
Mas Abelló street concentrates the most important work with 245,402 euros
The performance with the largest budget will be carried out on Mas Abelló street, where Aigües de Reus will renew the supply network. The work has a budget of 245,402 euros and an estimated timeframe of three and a half months.
On Nord street, the municipal company will act on both the supply and sanitation networks. There it will allocate 126,375 euros and estimates a duration of three months.
The third intervention will be divided between passatge Quer and glorieta Galícia, in the Fortuny neighborhood. Its budget is close to 100,000 euros and the planned schedule is two and a half weeks.
Daniel Rubio states that the works seek to maintain the service in the long term
Rubio frames these investments within a strategy of maintaining the municipal network and not just in repairing specific incidents.

The financing of the three works will be borne entirely by the municipal company, so that the works will not entail a direct cost for the residents of the affected areas. Aigües de Reus also plans to inform residents and neighborhood associations of the start of each action.
In addition, the company will enable a customer service phone line to resolve queries and incidents during the execution of the works in Mas Abelló, carrer del Nord and the surroundings of passatge Quer with the Galícia roundabout.
The three actions are part of the Municipal Action Plan 2023-2027 and the investment program with which Aigües de Reus plans to allocate 2.3 million euros to hydraulic infrastructures during 2026.
