The Plenary of the Parliament will vote this Thursday at 3:45 PM on a motion that calls for the dismissal of the Minister of the Interior, Núria Parlon, the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Esther Niubó, and the Director General of the Mossos d'Esquadra, Josep Lluís Trapero.
The initiative comes with a political clash in the background. While the motion demands the removal of the two members of the Government and the police chief, it also proposes to definitively withdraw the pilot plan that foresees the entry of the Mossos d'Esquadra into educational centers and submits to a vote whether there is a concentration of power in the figure of Trapero.
Junts incorporated amendments to the motion registered by the CUP
Salvador Vergés, parliamentary spokesperson for Junts, announced this Tuesday at a press conference in the Parliament that his group has introduced amendments to the original motion of the Candidatura d'Unitat Popular.
The known content of the proposal maintains as its core the demand for the dismissal of Parlon, Niubó, and Trapero. At the same time, the text places the role of the Mossos d'Esquadra in the educational field at the center, by asking that the pilot plan in educational centers be definitively withdrawn.
The vote will include the debate on Trapero's influence
In addition to the dismissals, the motion will bring another specific political issue to the hemicycle. The Parliament will have to rule on whether a concentration of power is occurring in the figure of the Director General of the Mossos d'Esquadra.
That point will be put to a vote within the same debate scheduled for Thursday afternoon. The session is set for 3:45 PM in the Parliament, where the continuity of Núria Parlon and Esther Niubó at the head of their respective departments will also be decided.
The original motion from the CUP expressly includes the request to "definitively" withdraw the pilot plan that foresees the introduction of the Mossos d'Esquadra into educational centers.
