The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has activated a yellow alert for rain intensity in Tarragonès and Baix Camp for this Monday. The warning will be in effect from 00:00 to 06:00 and anticipates the possibility of exceeding 20 liters per square meter in 30 minutes.
The day will see the earliest incidence in Camp de Tarragona, while the rest of the territory will be outside the meteorological warning during that period. Nevertheless, the forecast extends the rain to other parts of Catalonia throughout the day, with a second episode of intense precipitation expected in the northeast between 12:00 and 18:00.
Meteocat limits the warning to Tarragonès and Baix Camp until 06:00
The maximum danger level set by Meteocat is one out of six. The alert is concentrated in the early morning in two counties in southern Catalonia, with special attention to the intensity of the showers in a short interval.
During those six hours, the forecast points to records that may exceed 20 liters per square meter in half an hour. Outside of Tarragonès and Baix Camp, there is no active meteorological warning in the first part of Monday.
The rains will move in the afternoon towards the central coast and the mountainous northeast
In the morning, the forecast places the rain on the coast and in the northeast of Catalonia. In the afternoon, the showers will tend to concentrate on the central coast, the north, and the mountainous northeast.
In addition, Meteocat forecasts intense rain in the northeast between 12:00 and 18:00, also with a danger level of one out of six. This episode will arrive after the nighttime warning activated in Camp de Tarragona.
In parallel, minimum temperatures will rise moderately. Maximum temperatures will drop in the eastern half, rise in Ponent and Terres de l'Ebre, and remain unchanged in the rest of the territory.
