The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has issued an alert due to the detection of Salmonella in vegan protein powder shakes of the brand 226ERS, a product distributed in most of the national territory.

The warning comes after health authorities detected the bacteria in a widely marketed food supplement, which has triggered the recall of several specific batches while consumers are asked not to take them.

The alert came from the Valencian Community and affects 700-gram containers

The notice originated after a notification from the health authorities of the Comunitat Valenciana through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange. From that communication, the state agency transferred the alert to the rest of the competent administrations.

The affected products correspond to 700-gram containers of three flavors. In chocolate, the batches withdrawn are 2507B1002 and 2507B1015, both with an expiration date of July 31, 2027.

The vanilla flavor also appears, with lot 2511B1011 and expiration date of November 30, 2027. For red fruits, the affected lot is 2507B1021, with expiration in July 2027.

The agency has asked to withdraw the batches and not consume them

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has instructed the autonomous communities to verify the withdrawal of these products from commercial channels. The objective is to check that the affected packaging ceases to be on sale.

At the same time, authorities recommend that those who have any of these shakes at home do not consume them. If the product has already been ingested and symptoms compatible with salmonellosis appear, the recommendation is to go to a health center.

Among the symptoms cited in the alert are diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and headache.
