Terrassa will test its response to a forest fire this Wednesday with a drill in the northern part of the city that will activate the Municipal Emergency Plan and mobilize the Generalitat Firefighters, SEM, Mossos d'Esquadra, and Municipal Police.

The exercise will not be limited to fire. The operation will simultaneously test impacts on the population and mobility, with several chained scenarios that will include a bus accident on the Rellinars road, a vehicle trapped for not following confinement instructions, the evacuation of the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya, and the opening of a reception center in Can Jofresa.

The drill will start at 10:15 AM in the Els Pinetons urbanization

The planned sequence will begin at 10:15 AM, when the ADF will detect a column of smoke in the Els Pinetons development, in the north of Terrassa. From that alert, emergency services will deploy the coordination protocols planned for a forest fire with urban impact.

Bombers de la Generalitat, SEM, Mossos d'Esquadra, and Policia Municipal will participate in the operation, with the support of the Ajuntament de Terrassa and the Diputació de Barcelona.

The objective is to check how the different bodies respond when the fire forces the simultaneous management of the forest front, the protection of the population, and mobility problems in the affected environment.

The Rellinars road and the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya will host two key tests

Minutes after the start of the exercise, the drill will incorporate a second incident on the Rellinars road, where a bus accident will be recreated. A vehicle that did not follow the confinement instructions will also be trapped.

In parallel, the involved services will carry out the evacuation of personnel from the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya, one of the points included in the municipal response test.

In addition, the device plans to enable a reception center in the Can Jofresa Municipal Sports Zone to practice attending to displaced persons during an emergency of this type.

Towards noon, the drill will conclude with an assessment of the operation after having activated the Municipal Emergency Plan in various scenarios in the northern area of Terrassa.
