A 56-year-old man died this Thursday morning in a work accident that occurred at a company in La Ràpita, in the Montsià region, while he was carrying out repair work on a roof.
The accident occurred after the surface of the roof gave way and the worker fell to his death for reasons that are still under investigation. The alert was received by the Mossos d'Esquadra of the Amposta station at 07:57 AM.

The victim was working on the roof of the company at the time of the accident. The fall occurred when the surface he was working on collapsed, according to information provided by the intervening services.
Four patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra, a unit of the Bombers de la Generalitat, and SEM personnel were dispatched to the scene. Health personnel confirmed the worker's death on site.

The police action was handled by the Mossos d'Esquadra, who activated the procedure for this type of work accident. The Amposta station received the alert early in the morning and mobilized resources to the company in La Ràpita.
After the initial proceedings, the Mossos d'Esquadra reported the accident to the on-duty investigating court and also to the Departament d'Empresa i Treball, as per protocols for work accidents.
