La Guardia Urbana arrested in the early hours a 30-year-old man for an alleged sexual assault on a woman of about 40 years old on Ramon Llull street, in the Clot neighborhood of Barcelona. The officers arrested him around 4:30 hours after receiving the notice from a witness who thought he was seeing a robbery.
When the patrol arrived at the point, they verified that the woman was unconscious and had her pants down. There appeared the central contradiction of the case. The man maintained that he maintained a consensual relationship, but the victim declared later that she had gone out partying, had consumed alcohol, had gone out to smoke and remembered nothing else, in addition to assuring that she did not know the detainee.

The intervention occurred in the middle of the public road, in the surroundings of Ramon Llull, in El Clot. The initial call spoke of a possible robbery, but the situation the agents found led to an action for a presumed crime against sexual freedom.
According to the open investigation, the arrested man would have taken advantage of the woman's state of vulnerability to touch her genitals. The Urban Guard carried out the arrest at the scene.
After the arrest, health services transferred the victim to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital. There she explained that she did not remember what happened after going out for a smoke and that she did not know the arrested man.
The case was then handed over to the Mossos d'Esquadra, who took over the investigation as it involved a crime against sexual freedom. The detainee was to be brought before the court between today and tomorrow.
