The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the violent death of a man found on Saturday, May 16th, in a farmhouse in Reus, after receiving a 911 call at 2 PM about an apparent fight inside the residence. The case is under seal and is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Division, the DIC.
The scene that agents and emergency services found went beyond a brawl. The victim was tied hand and foot, showed signs of a beating, and there was pepper spray in the room, a circumstance that hindered the initial intervention. Meanwhile, outside the house, there were two injured men who ended up arrested for their alleged connection to the crime.

Outside the residence, agents located a 79-year-old man with blows to his face and head and another 46-year-old man with a stab wound. The latter had to receive attention at the Sant Joan de Reus hospital.
The Mossos arrested both men on Saturday. One of the two tried to escape upon detecting the police presence, all within an investigation that has not yet clarified what originated the fight or how the crime exactly unfolded.
For now, the police are also working with the possible involvement of a third person. This person allegedly fled before the patrols arrived and is currently sought by authorities.

The case breaks the absence of homicides recorded in the city since the last crime accounted for. It is the first violent death recorded in Reus this year and brings the total to five known cases in the last three years.
The recent series includes three violent deaths in 2023, one in 2025, and the one last Saturday. The investigation remains with the DIC, with judicial proceedings under seal.
