The Sol Ric restaurant, in the Vall de l'Arrabassada of Tarragona, will be replaced by a new McDonald's establishment. Last Thursday, the resolution approving the basic and executive projects was ratified for the future restaurant premises at this point in the city.
The municipal processing has also given the green light to the building permit granted to Restaurantes McDonald's SA, which will be able to undertake the demolition of the current building and the construction of the new property. For now, the planned date to begin the demolition of the old Sol Ric has not been revealed.
A premises closed since 2022
The building that Sol Ric occupied has been without activity since the end of 2022. With this operation, the Arrabassada plot will change commercial use with the implementation of a new fast food franchise in an area very close to the Tarragona coast.
The authorization includes both the demolition of the existing building and the construction of the new restaurant, which will feature private parking, drive-thru service, McCafé space, and home delivery.
It will be the fifth McDonald's of Tarragona
With this opening, when the work is completed, Tarragona will come to have five McDonald's establishments. The new premises will join those already operating in Les Gavarres, Parc Central, Rambla Nova and the Valencia road.
The implementation of the chain in the Vall de l'Arrabassada represents a new commercial movement in one of the most recognizable areas of Tarragona's urban front. For now, the demolition and construction schedule remains publicly unconfirmed, awaiting the progress of the execution of the already authorized project.
