Salou will enable in 2026 a space for dogs on the Platja de Ponent, within the continuity of the model applied in 2025. The area will be located in the section comprised between calle Esperanto, at the height of plaza Venus, and calle C, with the objective that it is operational before the start of the bathing season.
A delimited area in the Platja de Ponent
The reserved space will have an area of 1,864 square meters and will allow access for animals at a specific point on Salou's coastline. This is an action that gives continuity to the formula already launched the previous year.
The forecast is that this specific area for dogs will be enabled with sufficient advance to the start of the summer campaign, in one of the most crowded beaches of the Tarragona municipality.
Provided services and rules of use
The area will have dog showers, waste bins and signage, in order to organize the use of the space and facilitate coexistence in this stretch of the beach.
Among the conditions set, is the obligation that the animals remain under control at all times. The measure seeks to make compatible the use of the beach by pet owners with the usual operation of Platja de Ponent.
With this decision, Salou maintains the line started in 2025 and consolidates a delimited area for dogs at a specific point on the seafront, between Venus square and C street, facing the 2026 bathing season.
