ADIF has almost finished the new Bellissens station, in the southeast of Reus, an infrastructure called to serve the south of the city and to connect that area with Rodalies del Camp de Tarragona and the regional lines of Catalonia.

The work advances with two calendars on the table. ADIF sources maintain that the completion works continue "as planned" with the aim of concluding in 2026, while the president of the railway manager, Pedro Marco, stated last November that the station will come into operation this summer.

Now the operators are assembling the metal structure of the canopy and closing the platforms. Afterwards, they will tackle the enclosures and the cladding of the building modules.

The action reaches that phase after completing the demolition of existing structures and foundations, the execution of pile screens, and the construction of two under-track underpasses. The prefabricated interior walls of the platform edge have also been placed.

In addition, the work already incorporates the exterior platform walls and emergency exits, the replacement of the catenary support system and the platform canopies. Outside, the work has included earthmoving and the foundation of the plaza's stands and ramps.

The new station will serve about 1,400 travelers a day in the south of Reus

The station is located between those of Reus and Vila-seca, at a point designed to reinforce the railway connection in the southeast of the municipality. The project foresees that about 1,400 travelers per day will pass through its facilities.

The building will have 340 square meters and will be fully accessible. It will have two side platforms 220 meters long, connected by an underpass.

Next to the railway enclosure there will be an access area for pedestrians and spaces for vehicles, taxis, and buses to stop. The design also reserves specific areas for bicycles and scooters.

In parallel, a new urban step is executed next to the station to link the central axis of the Campus Universitari de Bellissens with Jaume Vidal i Alcover street in the direction of the center of Reus.

The Bellissens station project foresees a total investment of 10 million euros.
