The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 33-year-old man on Thursday around 8:00 PM in the metropolitan area of Llobregat for his alleged involvement in the violent death of a man in a farmhouse in Reus last Saturday. With this arrest, there are now three people under investigation for the crime.
The investigation places a possible financial conflict between the victim and the detainees at the center of the case. This is, for now, the main lead that investigators are following in a case that remains under summary secrecy.
The arrest in Llobregat brought the number of people arrested for the Reus crime to three
Officers arrived at the Reus property on Saturday around 2:00 PM after receiving a report of a fight. There they found the body with signs of violence and arrested two men, aged 46 and 79, that same day, who tried to flee upon seeing the police arrive.
The third detainee, aged 33, was located five days later in the metropolitan area of Llobregat. His arrest expands an investigation that, at the moment, has not revealed more than the financial hypothesis and the relationship between the victim and the three suspects.
The judge sent the first two detainees to prison without bail
The Reus Court of First Instance decreed provisional, communicated, and no-bail detention on Wednesday for the two men arrested that same Saturday. The ruling affects the suspects aged 46 and 79.
For now, the court maintains the summary secrecy of the case. This limitation prevents knowing more details about the sequence of events inside the farmhouse, the roles attributed to each detainee, or the exact scope of the financial conflict being investigated by the Mossos d'Esquadra.
The judicial commission agreed on Wednesday to provisional, communicated, and no-bail detention for the first two detainees, aged 46 and 79.
