Rodalies de Catalunya will restore this week the railway sections that remained interrupted between Reus and Móra la Nova, as well as between Ripoll and Ribes de Freser. This recovery allows users to complete the entire journey from Sant Vicenç de Calders to Manresa without the need for intermediate transfers in those sectors.

The operator assures that the normalization returns the situation to levels close to the programming in effect before the Gelida accident. Three and a half months have passed since that incident that profoundly altered mobility on the affected lines.

The R15 starts on Monday and the R3 on Tuesday

The section of the R15 line between Reus and Móra la Nova will begin its commercial activity this Monday. The following day, Tuesday, the sector of the R3 connecting Ripoll with Ribes de Freser will become operational.

The R4 line will recover its full route after these partial incorporations into ordinary service. Railway transport managers consider this milestone a decisive step towards stabilizing the train service on the Catalan corridor.

Despite the reopening, the Minister of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, Sílvia Paneque, warns that certain limitations will persist. Specific actions and alternative plans will be maintained to advance the pending structural improvements in the network.

R3 works extend until 2027

Travelers must continue to use replacement buses on the stretch between Móra la Nova and Riba-roja d"Ebre. Road reinforcements between Ripoll and Puigcerdà are also maintained, in addition to the disruptions resulting from the works in Garraf.

The alternative plan will continue until January 2027, the planned deadline for the completion of works on the R3. This extension confirms that full line capacity will not be available for the coming years.

The reset calendar coincides with the end of a fare era for commuter trains. The managers announced that next Friday will be the last day of free use of the service.

Starting Saturday, May 9, the service will have to be paid for again according to current rates. Users will have to validate their usual transport passes to access the platforms from that date.
