Aigües de Reus has awarded the drafting of the City's Supply Master Plan, a document that will mark the development of the supply network over the next ten years. The contract has been awarded to ABM Serveis d'Enginyeria i Consulting SL for an amount of 151,900 euros without VAT.

The new plan must establish the lines of action for the supply network of Reus in the next decade. Among its main axes are the reduction of leaks, the digitalization of the network, and data analysis through artificial intelligence, with the aim of improving water management and optimizing the operation of the service.

Review of the drought plan and reused waters

The commission also incorporates the revision of the Drought Special Plan, in addition to the elaboration of a specific master plan for non-potable or reused water. With this, Aigües de Reus expands the scope of technical planning beyond the conventional supply network and opens the door to a more diversified management of water resources.

The councilor responsible for the service, Daniel Rubio, has defended the award as a step within the municipal strategy in water matters.

"This award reflects the commitment of the City Council and Aigües de Reus to manage water resources efficiently, transparently and with the best technical quality available on the market" - Daniel Rubio, councilor responsible for the service

Upcoming planned performances for 2026

In 2026, the drafting of the Comprehensive Sanitation System Plan is planned to be addressed, together with the sanitation of the Bellissens area and the Centre Integrat de Mercaderies. These actions are part of the infrastructure planning linked to the water cycle in the capital of Baix Camp.

With this award, Reus initiates a new phase of technical planning to adapt its supply network to the needs of the coming years and strengthen its response capacity in scenarios of greater demand on available resources.
