The Reus City Council has awarded the contract to develop the School Environments Master Plan with the aim of transforming the accesses and spaces near educational centers.
Territoris XML SA will draft the document for an amount of 38,123.47 euros including taxes.
Pacify traffic and expand green areas
The plan will define the bases for future construction projects that prioritize safety and well-being in the immediate environment of nursery schools, primary schools, and secondary schools. The proposals will focus on playgrounds and nearby areas of influence to establish clear intervention priorities.
The pacification of traffic is contemplated through the reduction of lanes and the limitation of speeds. This measure seeks to improve the visibility of school access points and guarantee safer circulation for students.
The expansion of resting areas includes the incorporation of more vegetation and urban furniture. These actions aim to create spaces for meeting, waiting, and care that reinforce coexistence in the neighborhood.
Integrate the school into urban regeneration
The technical criteria will include climatic, air quality, and urban comfort aspects. The implementation of measures to reduce noise pollution is an essential part of this environmental improvement strategy.
The council's vision seeks to integrate school environments as key pieces in the regeneration of neighborhoods. The analysis will cover all educational levels to ensure a coherent and effective transformation of public space.
