The Reus City Council has initially approved the project to build an all-terrain bicycle circuit in the vicinity of the Municipal Stadium, on Recasens i Mercader street. The action plans to set up a technical route in an area close to the sports facility.
The future track will have an approximate length of 800 meters and a minimum width of three meters. The design proposes a route designed for BTT practice with different specific elements distributed along the route.
A technical layout next to the Estadi Municipal
The project incorporates banked curves, a rock zone, acceleration spaces, an elevated starting platform, trenches, dirt cords and a double-type jump zone. All of this will be part of a circuit conceived to offer a continuous route and with different levels of technical demand.
The intervention also contemplates the enabling of a departure and arrival area, in addition to a specific access to the venue. To this are added the necessary previous works on the ground to adapt the space to the new installation.
Planned works on the ground
Among the included actions are earthworks, the opening and regularization of the track and its mechanical compaction. With this set of works, the aim is to leave the layout defined and adapt the surface for its sports use.
The contract execution budget amounts to 9,906.51 euros with VAT included. The initial approval allows taking the first administrative step to develop this new equipment in the area of the Estadi Municipal de Reus.
