The pre-enrollment period to access municipal nursery schools opens on May 8 and will remain active until May 22. This time window marks the beginning of the administrative process to secure a place in the first-cycle early childhood education centers.

The effective enrollment will take place later, between June 3 and June 18. Interested families must comply with these established deadlines to formalize the reservation of a place according to the corresponding award.

Seat assignment prioritizes score over speed

The admission system does not work on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are ordered according to the weighted score obtained by each family unit after applying the objective criteria established by the administration.

The scales consider circumstances such as having siblings already enrolled in the center or that the parents work in the same one. It is also positively valued to reside in the municipality, the employment situation of the parents, being a single-parent or large family, and being a beneficiary of the guaranteed citizenship income.

Other factors that increase the score include presenting a disability equal to or greater than 33 percent in the student, the parent, or a sibling. Likewise, multiple births and foster care situations are considered.

The available options cover six municipal nursery schools: La Ginesta, Montsant, El Margalló, El Marfull, L'Olivera and El Lligabosc. Added to this public offering is Llar d'Infants El Barrufet, which is owned by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Partial gratuity and channels for submitting applications

The Department of Education maintains the funding for the five-hour school service for students enrolled in I2. This measure implies that the cost will be zero euros for families in this specific time slot.

Complementary services such as the cafeteria, early or late drop-off, and supervision continue to be paid for by the user families. These concepts are not covered by the free service applied to basic school services.

The submission of applications can be done through a web link enabled for this purpose. There is also the option to request an appointment at the Municipal Schooling Office, open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, or to deliver the documentation directly to the early childhood education center chosen as the first option.

Those users who require technical assistance have an in-person support service to carry out telematic procedures. This resource facilitates digital access for those who encounter difficulties in online management.
