National Geographic has dedicated a new editorial deployment to Antoni Gaudí with an eight-page American edition and a 200-page collector's special in Spanish and Catalan focused entirely on the life and work of the architect born in Reus.

The initiative arrives when there is still time until the centenary of his death, which will be commemorated in 2026, but the main volume is already presented as a monographic publication with unpublished research on his career and on the symbolism of some of his best-known buildings.

National Geographic launched in December 2025 a 200-page special on Gaudí

The American magazine first published an eight-page report titled Gaudí: Architect of fantasy, faith, and form, dedicated to reviewing the figure of the modernist architect. Then, in December 2025, it released a special collector's edition.

That monographic publication was edited in Castilian and Catalan and was conceived on the occasion of the proximity of 2026, the year in which one hundred years will have passed since Gaudí's death. The volume brings together 200 pages focused entirely on his architectural and personal legacy.

One of the central elements of the issue is an unpublished biography elaborated by Chiara Curti, an architect specialist in Gaudí's work. The text starts from original research on the author's life and on the symbolic charge of his projects.

The edition covers seven works by Gaudí recognized by Unesco

The special incorporates an itinerary through buildings declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco. In that selection are the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Parc Güell, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, Casa Vicens, Palau Güell, and Cripta Güell.

Alongside those works, the publication broadens its focus to other properties linked to Gaudí. El Capricho, Finca Güell, the Episcopal Palace of Astorga, Casa Botines, the College of the Teresians, Casa Calvet, and Bellesguard appear.

From Catalonia, the route connects directly with the Reus origin of the architect and with some of the most visited spaces in Barcelona, although the volume also follows his trail outside the community with examples spread across other points in the State.

The special collector's edition is on sale on the official website of National Geographic Spain for 15 euros and 10 euros for subscribers.
