The duty court has sent a 33-year-old man to provisional, communicated, and no-bail prison for the homicide committed on Saturday, May 16, in a farmhouse in the municipality. He is the third person arrested for a crime that the Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating under summary secrecy and for which all three arrestees are accused of murder.
The investigation places the origin of the case in a conflict over the occupation and payment of the dwelling, with indications of irregular assignments or informal sublets. That possible clash over the use of the house ended with a victim found tied hand and foot and with clear signs of torture, in what is the first murder recorded in the city in 2026 and the fifth in the last three years.
The Mossos located the third detainee on Thursday night in Llobregat
The arrested man, 33 years old, was located on Thursday night in the metropolitan area of Llobregat. After appearing before the court, the court ordered his admission to provisional prison without bail.
After the hearing, the detainee entered the Mas d'Enric penitentiary center, in El Catllar, also accused of murder. The case now involves three people for the events that occurred in the farmhouse.
At the scene, officers arrested two other men, aged 46 and 79, on the same Saturday as they tried to flee. The older one had facial injuries and the younger one suffered stab wounds that required him to be taken to Hospital Sant Joan de Reus.
The victim appeared tied up and pepper spray hindered assistance
The crime occurred around two in the afternoon, after a call to 112 reporting a suspected fight in a farmhouse in the municipality. The investigation is being led by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Mossos d'Esquadra.
Inside the dwelling, investigators found the victim tied hand and foot and with clear signs of torture. Evidence suggests that the man allegedly defended himself with a knife during the assault.
Furthermore, the presence of pepper spray inside the house complicated the initial intervention of the emergency services. This factor delayed entry and initial assistance at the property.
The case remains under summary secrecy while the Mossos d'Esquadra try to clarify the degree of participation of each arrestee. The police count already places this homicide as the fifth recorded in the city over the last three years.
