The staff of PortAventura World has ratified in assembly the new collective agreement agreed between the management and the unions of the complex, an agreement that sets the labor framework for the period 2025 2029 and moves away the possibility of a new strike in the Costa Daurada resort.
The approval comes after negotiations became tense last week, when the dialogue became stranded and the door was opened to a possible workers' strike. With the assembly's backing, that scenario is now ruled out and the company expects to start the season at full capacity.
Agreement after a year and a half of negotiation
The new agreement has been closed with the mediation of the Department of Business and Labor of the Generalitat in Tarragona. The negotiation had begun a year and a half ago and, during that process, more than half a hundred meetings were held between the parties.
The company maintains that the agreement reached guarantees improvements in salary conditions, in reconciliation, and in the organization of work, in addition to strengthening employment stability and the growth of the project.
The risk of labor conflict clears up
The negotiation had already experienced an episode of union pressure in April 2025, when the workers carried out a strike day to force an agreement between the management and the labor representatives. That mobilization evidenced the existing blockage on some points of the table.
The ratification now allows closing that front and gives margin to the complex to face the coming weeks without the immediate threat of new mobilizations. The possible strike that had been raised after the temporary failure of the talks is without effect.
Daily season and re-release of Dragon Khan
Following the validation of the agreement by the staff, PortAventura World plans to start the season with all its operations active. The park will open every day of the week and, among the planned novelties, it will launch the renovated Dragon Khan.
The agreement gives stability to one of the main tourist engines of the Costa Daurada at the start of the season and closes, at least for now, a labor conflict that had generated uncertainty both among the staff and in the activity of the complex.
