The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested last Sunday in Tarragona a 36-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of four burglaries inside vehicles committed in the city. The investigation was carried out by the Urban Crime Group of the Tarragona police station and places the events on two different days.
Thefts in community parking lots in Tarragona
On the night of April 21, the arrested person allegedly accessed a community parking lot in Tarragona and, after observing several cars, supposedly broke windows to steal objects that were inside. Investigators attribute several incidents committed with this same pattern to him.
The police action also allowed him to be linked to a previous robbery, which occurred in February in another car park in the city. In that case, the perpetrator entered the premises, chose a vehicle, and broke the window to take objects from inside.
Identification by cameras and investigation management
The identification of the suspect was achieved, according to the police investigation, thanks to the images from security cameras and the actions taken by the officers. The arrest has made it possible to clarify a fourth robbery with the same modus operandi.
The arrested individual was known to the police and has about twenty prior records, most of them related to car break-ins. After his arrest, he was brought yesterday before the duty investigating court of Tarragona, which will have to determine his legal status.
