A 30-year-old man has lost the vision in his left eye after suffering an assault with a broken glass in a pub in Les Borges Blanques. The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested the alleged perpetrator, a 47-year-old neighbor, for a crime of injury.
The events occurred in the early morning of April 5 in a leisure venue located on Nostra Senyora de Montserrat street. The Emergency Medical System (SEM) treated the victim on site, who presented a significant wound to the eyelid and eyeball of the left eye.
The young man was urgently transferred to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida. He remained admitted there for one day to receive specialized care due to the severity of the injuries caused by the glass.
The victim describes the moment of the attack
The affected person reported that he went to the establishment accompanied by two friends and the partner of one of them. The tension arose when a woman began to physically assault the group's companion while dancing.

The young man stated he did not know the aggressor nor understand the motivation for the attack. He emphasized that anyone present who tried to mediate could have suffered the same violent consequences.
The physical consequences are serious and require continuous medical follow-up. The patient indicated that he is awaiting more specialized visits and there is a possibility that he may need surgical intervention.

The police agents quickly identified the material perpetrator of the events. A 47-year-old man was arrested at 4:43 a.m. in the same municipality of Les Borges Blanques.
The detainee was brought before the judicial authorities at the duty court of Lleida. The Mossos d'Esquadra sent the corresponding investigation files to clarify all the details of the incident.
