Indra will expand its presence in Catalonia with a plan that foresees creating 1,500 jobs until 2027, opening new locations in Tarragona and other points in the territory, and erecting a new flagship building in Barcelona. The announcement was made in the Catalan capital during the IV Meeting of the National Defense Industry Ecosystem.
The company starts from an already consolidated position, with about 3,500 workers and eight operational headquarters in Catalonia, but it wants to take an additional leap in a community where it aims to increase its turnover by 50% to reach 550 million euros. The expansion was presented to more than 200 companies and with the assistance of the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa.
Indra wants to add 1,500 jobs until 2027 in Catalonia
José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, placed employment at the center of the plan and explained that the goal is to make the company one of the ten companies that generate the most jobs in Catalonia. The forecast implies a notable reinforcement of the company's current structure in the community.
That growth will be supported by new implementations outside of Barcelona, with Tarragona as one of the points indicated by the company, and by a new emblematic headquarters in the Catalan capital. The company did not detail at the event how many of those positions would correspond to each location.
