Fifty workers from the Repsol industrial complex in Tarragona have demonstrated this Monday through the city center to show their rejection of the labor reorganization proposal driven by the company. The protest is framed within an open conflict since mid-March.
The mobilization revolves around the disagreement with the changes proposed for the Tarragona industrial complex. The Workers' Union has expressed its rejection of a reorganization which, it maintains, contemplates the reduction of structural positions in different areas of the center.
Union rejection of the reorganization
The union maintains that the proposal affects several areas of industrial activity. Among them, it points out positions of responsibility in process units, technical staff, and support areas considered key for the operation of the facilities.

The union organization also assures that its opposition is frontal to any reduction of structural positions that, in its judgment, may affect industrial safety, daily operations, and the technical knowledge accumulated in the complex.
A conflict open since March
The labor conflict began in mid-March and remains without agreement. From the STR it is warned that these decisions arrive at a particularly sensitive moment for the staff, with high workloads and with the implementation of shifts of up to 12 hours in certain areas.
The union maintains that those shifts already represent a significant demand for the workers and frames its rejection of the reorganization in that context. The protest in the center of Tarragona visualizes the discomfort of a part of the staff in the face of a measure that it considers damaging for the operational structure of the complex.
