Glovo will finally apply an employment regulation file to 91 delivery drivers in Catalonia after the agreement reached on Wednesday night with the unions. The cut is below the initial forecast of 143 employees and is part of the adjustment of 436 delivery drivers announced throughout Spain.
The main paradox of the file in Catalonia is territorial. None of the affected workers operate in the city of Barcelona, even though 21% of the state total is concentrated in Catalonia and the company's activity is mainly distributed among municipalities in the metropolitan area and coastal areas.
The agreement reduced layoffs in Catalonia from 143 to 91
The pact between the company and the unions was unanimous and includes compensation of 37 days per year worked. The negotiation reduced the initially planned impact in Catalonia by 52 people.
In Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, the ERE will affect 32 delivery drivers. Salou is excluded from the cut, as Glovo has fully maintained its fleet of 20 workers.
The greatest individual impact is concentrated in Castelldefels, with 20 layoffs. There are also 14 departures in Calafell and 10 in Molins de Rei.
Castelldefels, Calafell and Platja d'Aro concentrate part of the adjustment
The list of municipalities includes seven departures in Arenys de Mar and another seven in Calella, Malgrat de Mar and Santa Susanna. Cardedeu will lose four jobs.
In addition, Glovo plans two departures in Esparreguera, one in Lloret de Mar and three in Martorell and Sant Andreu de la Barca. Sant Vicenç de Calders is listed with 10 affected.
In the demarcation of Girona and Tarragona, there are eight layoffs in Platja d'Aro, two in Roses, five in Torredembarra, three in Tortosa and five in Vilafranca del Penedès.
The adjustment leaves the Salou workforce intact, where the fleet of 20 workers has been maintained, while Castelldefels leads the list with 20 planned layoffs.
