Strong wind in the south of Tarragona
The province of Tarragona maintains the yellow warning for wind, with a forecast of gusts that can reach 90 km/h, especially in the southern tip. The episode is concentrated on a day of instability in which the wind is once again the most relevant phenomenon in this part of the territory.
Girona, on orange alert for the state of the sea
In the province of Girona, the most significant episode is on the coast. The warning is orange for maritime storm, with north and northwest wind of between 60 and 70 km/h and waves that can reach four meters. The force of the wind especially affects the coast and complicates the state of the sea this Monday.
In Empordà, furthermore, the yellow wind warning remains in effect, also with gusts of up to 90 km/h. It is a combination of rough seas and intense wind in one of the areas of Catalonia most exposed to this type of episode.
Snow in la Vall d"Aran
In Lleida, the Vall d"Aran maintains the yellow warning for snowfalls. The forecast points to accumulations of up to five centimeters in 24 hours from 1,100 meters of altitude, on a day with adverse weather also in medium and high altitudes of the Pyrenees.
The storm also hits Baleares
Outside Catalonia, the episode leaves a notable situation in Menorca, where the orange alert for coastal phenomena remains, with waves of between four and five meters and intense wind. In Mallorca, the yellow alert for wind and swell continues.
The meteorological map for this Monday thus leaves a distributed impact between the coast of Girona, the south of Tarragona and the Lleida Pyrenees, with wind, rough sea and snow as the main risks at the start of the week.
