A leak of formic acid in a dangerous goods truck has activated the pre-alert of the TRANSCAT plan this Tuesday on the AP-7, at kilometer point 207.8, within the municipality of L'Arboç. The incident occurred around 12:38 PM in the service area where the driver stopped the vehicle.
The incident has not caused injuries, but it has forced the service area to close to traffic while emergency teams worked to contain the spill and secure the surroundings. The leak affected one of the drums being transported by the trailer.
Five units control the fire in the L'Arboç service area
Five units from the Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya have been deployed to the site to control the leak and ensure safety. The personnel have intervened both inside the vehicle and in the external area affected by the spill.
The spilled product was formic acid and it came out of one of the trailer's containers. Part of the material was spilled inside the truck and another part reached the ground of the AP-7 service area.
The spill forces the closure of the area next to kilometer marker 207.8
The alert occurred at 12:38 PM, when the leak had already affected the surroundings where the driver had stopped. The activation of the TRANSCAT plan's pre-alert responds to the presence of dangerous goods in the vehicle involved.
During the intervention, the service area of the AP-7 has been closed to traffic to facilitate security and cleaning tasks. The incident was located at kilometer marker 207.8 of the highway, within the municipality of L'Arboç.
No people were injured in the incident registered this Tuesday on the AP-7, where the spill affected one of the drums on the truck's trailer.
