The Central Library of Terrassa will extend its hours between May 18 and June 20 to provide study spaces with wifi connection during the exam period and PAU preparation. The reinforcement will allow it to open at night from Monday to Friday between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM, and on Saturdays from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

The main difference for students is in access. While the municipal library will open at night precisely to absorb demand in weeks of maximum academic pressure, the Library of the Terrassa Campus of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia will maintain its ordinary schedule and will only limit entry on six specific days to students of the center.

The Central Library opens until midnight for a month

The special facility at the Central Library of Terrassa will start on May 18 and will remain until June 20. The objective is to offer study spaces with wifi in the final stretch of the course, when exams and preparation for university entrance exams coincide.

From Monday to Friday, the night service will operate from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. On Saturdays, the window will shift by one hour and opening will be from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

The measure reinforces the municipal offer in a city with a double student focus, between the network of public facilities and the UPC university campus in Terrassa. The extended hours cover the part of the day when the university library will have already closed.

The UPC library maintains its schedule and limits entry for six days

In parallel, the Library of the Terrassa Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya will maintain its usual hours from May 18 to June 22. It will be open from Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 8:30 PM, and on June 23 it will be open from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

During most of that period, access will not have restrictions. Even so, entry will be reserved for students of the center on six days, May 30 and 31 and June 6, 7, 13 and 14.

These limitations coincide with specific dates on the academic calendar and differentiate the operation of the university equipment from the reinforcement opened in the Central Library. The two spaces will continue to operate at the same time, although with different access rules.

The TR10 Building Keeps Classrooms Open 24 Hours

The other stable alternative on campus will be the UPC's TR10 Building, whose classrooms remain open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Access is free and without reservation from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM.

Outside that strip, the entry conditions change. The UPC requires prior reservation to use the TR10 between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM, in addition to weekends and holidays.

On June 23, the Terrassa Campus Library will close earlier than the rest of the days and will only be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
