Hundreds of people gathered on April 30th at the back of the Hotel Sol Costa Daurada in Salou to participate in the macrocasting for extras and dancers for the Disney movie Tangled. The call, open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for applicants between 25 and 80 years old, brought together dozens of candidates who entered the auditions in groups of ten.
The day was more controlled than the one held the previous week in Girona, where thousands of people attended and the process reached its capacity. In Salou, a good part of the attendees moved after not having managed to get a spot in that first call.
Profile sought and staggered access
The organization focused especially on those over 25 years old and, specifically, on men, after an initial process with a large volume of adolescents and women in Girona. Male candidates were also instructed to grow their hair and beards to design a period look.
The queue began to form in advance and some hopefuls spent the night in the open or sleeping in camper vans parked in the area with the intention of securing their entry into the live action. During the wait, several candidates vying for dancer roles showed choreographies they had prepared.
Many came equipped for a long wait. Some brought umbrellas, parasols, chairs, and food.
How the tests went
The process explained by the participants themselves started with scanning a QR code. Then, the candidates had to take photos in two different poses, one natural and one looking at the camera, always with their identification number, and complete a form with different physical and personal data.

In that form, details such as clothing size, weight, height, skin color, presence of tattoos, or if the candidate owns a car were requested. Those waiting in line were also informed that scenes with 500 people dancing at once would be filmed in Tarragona.
Planned filming schedule
The information provided to the candidates places the filming in Tarragona between July 1 and July 10, 2026. The costume fittings would take place in a single day and start in June. The schedule also includes filming in Alicante from June 24 to June 30 and in Girona from July 13 to July 29.
Regarding the specific locations, among the attendees circulated the possibility that one of them is Salou itself, although the City Council neither confirms nor denies data about the filming.

The organization's forecast is to communicate the selections between May and June via a mobile message with the following instructions for each candidate.
Expectation among the candidates
The call generated high expectations among neighbors and people who came from other places. Chingneisang Yadav, a resident of Salou, participated for the first time in a test of this type.

The Salou casting served to organize a massive call with staggered access and a more defined profile than that of Girona. The attention of the aspirants is now focused on the notices planned for the coming weeks and on a shoot that, if the communicated dates are met, will take the production to Tarragona in the middle of July 2026.
