A worker performing maintenance tasks on the AP 2 died this Wednesday at kilometer 231, between La Bisbal del Penedès and Banyeres del Penedès. The incident occurred while he was working alongside other operators on a change of overhead signage on the highway. The alert to 112 was received at 7:15 PM.
To the spot moved patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra, personnel of Firefighters and medical personnel of the SEM. According to the available information, the deceased worker felt bad when he was up in the basket from which one intervened in the elevated signage of the road.
Intervention of emergencies in the middle of the highway
The firefighters activated a ladder vehicle to access the basket and evacuate the worker, who was unconscious. The operator was lowered to the asphalt with the aerial ladder, where SEM personnel began cardiovascular resuscitation maneuvers.
The paramedics could not revive him and the victim died at the scene. The operation required the deployment of a large emergency response on this stretch of the Baix Penedès highway.
Traffic cut in Lleida and Zaragoza direction
